In which Marco establishes dominance of the couch while Yvie rules the floor
Happy New Year! I realize it's been a while since we have shared the goings on with our little star. (Kim has started blogging and she actually updates regularly. This is a good thing for this blog b/c the competitive side of me says I have to keep up with her ;) ).
Things are going really well with Yvaine. She turned 8 months old yesterday. I can't believe how fast time flies with her around. She can stand up if you help support her for balance, she rolls over both ways, she sits up on her own and can get in and out of the sitting position on her own and...drumroll please...she's crawling! Around Christmas she started getting up on all fours, and since then has been progressing in bits but now she officially crawls! She is also very vocal. Sometimes I feel sorry for Andy as he will have two motor mouths to deal with.
My mom said sometimes she can see the toddler that Yvie will be, her face is much more expressive. I agree. She is so beautiful. There are days when I just can't believe something so wonderful happened to me. I am caught between excitement at watching her grow and wanting to experience what is coming next and desperately hoping that time will freeze and she will stay my sweet little baby. I guess I just need to focus more on the present.
We have a new video to share with you. It's just under 8 minutes but we figured we should make up for the lack in posts. You'll get a glimpse of everyone who lives in our house :)

I appreciate that Andy threw what look like dog toys for your daughter to fetch... I mean crawl too. Lookin' cute guys!
I giggle because he also clicks at her like a pony. We do have an issue with George trying to eat Yvie's plastic toys. We had an unfortunate incident with a pooh bear bath toy. It made me very sad. On the flip side, Yvaine likes to play with George's tennis balls. I bought her some racquet balls instead so she won't get fuzz in her mouth. Did you know that no one sells just a plain ol' ball (of a small size) for kids? Also, Toys R Us is the scariest place in the world. I asked someone if they carried "regular" toys like balls or blocks. The worker said "oh you mean toys where baby's imagination makes them work?" They had a very small section behind a wall of barbies. Then I got lost. I'm glad I had Yvie with me or I think I might have gone berserk in there. We went to the co-op and bought organic avocados to cleanse the shopping taint afterward.
